The Industrial Engineer Project & Operation is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing through completion, assigned projects to ensure the development and production of products meets customer and internal quality deliverables. Coordinate and lead investigations regarding customer complaints. Work with Supply Chain management to evaluate and manage supplier performance. Duties and responsibilities are accomplished personally or through collaboration with other staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct, instruct, train, and supervise Plant Productionpersonnel
- Create production operations that promote customer quality and delivery satisfaction
- Organize and lead programs in Plastic Injection Molding to continuously improve production operation with respect to productivity, quality, safety, inventory levels and operating expense while utilizing lean manufacturing techniques
- Provide a safe working environment for all employees and actively participate in the plant safety committee and programs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal staff and key customers
- Serve as point of contact in ensuring conformity to standards and leverage best practices as developed
- Perform Plant Lean Audits and implement VSM
- Manage, report, document and plan production performance, continuous improvement activities, action plans, strategic plans, and employee utilization
- Ensure thorough production process Root Cause analysis and any required Corrective Actions are completed on a timely basis
- Develop/maintain annual capital budget to achieve financial objectives are met as well as scheduling expenditures, compiling, and studying costs, initiating corrective actions where required
- Evaluate financial implication of changes made in the operation, with objective of achieving maximum profitability
- Take lead in implementing & maintaining compliance with21 CFR 820 , ISO 13485 , ISO 15378 Quality Standards, with all other applicable regulations as well as all company & plant policies
- Develop personnel to grow and assume greater responsibilities that fit into a succession plan for future growth
- Support Plastic Injection Molding plant layout transformation and new asset delivery projects to ensure a smooth transition and ramp-up to production
- Ensure IT systems adherence to standards and escalate as need requires
- Facilitate teamwork and promote collaboration across departments and central functions
- Implement programs and procedures required for plant cleanliness
- Ensure smooth cooperation for industrialization project (e.g.: PQ, NPI stages) and interfaces for escalation

- Manages the Design for Manufacturing activities related to injection, and post injection process, such as assembly, decoration, labelling, …
- Ensures that the Design for Manufacturing recommendations are considered for the product design and specifications.
- Defines the manufacturing process during the development phase and coordinate the delivery of samples according to the development project strategy and requirements.
- Explores and implements new technologies (prototyping, pilot, …) and/or ways of working to continuously improve quality, robustness and lead times of development projects in collaboration with the Global Product development leader from other DP plants
- Ensures the good transfer of projects between the development phase and the industrialization phase.
- Attends the Insight Management meeting as well as the Insight Development Project governance meetings.
- Provides technical input for the business case according to the RFQ procedure.
- Participates to the NPI periodic review and to the continuous improvement of the process to ensure coherence between the development and the industrial phase.
- Defines and deploys a methodology based on statistics to define Controlled Dimensions (CoD), Critical Dimension (CrD) as well as their tolerance interval and Cp/Cpk to achieve in production.
- Coordinates the activities to maintain and develop the technology and supplier list for means of manufacturing samples required during the development phase.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s /Master degree in Engineering preferably Industrial /Mechanical or related field required
- Above2 years of experience in manufacturing
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- ISO 13485 Knowledge
- Ability to lift 30 lbs, and
- Stand and walk up to 80% of shift
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Ability to coach and mentor on an individual and group basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-task environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively present information and professionally respond to questions from staff, leadership, customers, and suppliers
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Plastic Injection Molding, Injection Blow Moulding , Assembly machine and Medical Device manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- SAP experience
- Project experience in setting up a company , NPD etc
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Both ISO 8 Clean Room production environment and general office with travel in between
- Occasional travel to meet suppliers , project coordinator , customer , group company global plants
